What Happens During Your First Free Consultation
You’ll be welcomed by our team, introduced to your expert orthodontist and shown around our office.
Our highly-trained, orthodontic treatment coordinator will then take some digital photographs of your teeth. will review some general information about orthodontics. We use various visual aids to help explain orthodontic issues including videos and photographs. We will also show you samples of appliances so that you can see what they look like and understand how they work.
Before a final diagnosis and detailed treatment plan can be made, diagnostic records, consisting of photographs, necessary x-rays, and a digital model, must be made and reviewed by the doctor. These diagnostic records allow our doctors to create a comprehensive customized treatment plan. If the patient is ready and comfortable proceeding, we frequently take these diagnostic records at the time of the initial examination appointment.
Depending on the complexity of the treatment, we may schedule a separate appointment to discuss your treatment plan in detail. Our treatment coordinator or the doctors will show you exactly what’s involved in the treatment, what results can be expected, and how your active participation can help assure success. Fully understanding treatment goals, existing problems and the latest treatments available will assist you in making an educated decision about treatment.
What is the next step?
You’ll be scheduled to get your braces. After that we will check your progress at your routine adjustment appointments. We like to see our patients every 4-6 weeks or so depending on the individual situation. Regularly scheduled appointments are an important part of any orthodontic treatment. Regular checkups with your family dentist are also necessary every 3-6 months during your orthodontic treatment. Once the braces are removed, retainers will be made.
Your retainers are designed to settle your teeth in their corrected position until your bones, gums, and muscles adjust to the change. Long term retainer wear at nights will be critical for keeping the teeth straight. Reaching this final treatment stage is an exciting and important to maintain your new beautiful smile.
Creating Your Personal Treatment Plan
After reviewing these records, Our Doctors will join you in a private consultation room to discuss your individualized and unique treatment plan.
Our doctor will point out specific areas of concern and show you what kind of corrections you can expect by showing photos and videos of similar cases.
Should you have any questions during the visit, your doctor will take as much time as you need to answer your questions and decide what kind of treatment is best for you and walk you through the process.
They will explain everything from scheduling to expected discomfort levels, to finances and payment options.
Our goal is to make sure that no question goes unanswered.
